How do you play the card game Old Maid?
Each player removes all pairs from his hand face down. If a player has three-of-a-kind, they remove only two of those three cards. The dealer then offers their hand, spread out face down, to the player on the left, who draws one card from it. This player discards any pair that may have been formed by the drawn card.

Can you end rummy without discarding?
When a player gets rid of all of their cards, they win the game. If all of their remaining cards are matched, the player may lay them down without discarding on their last turn. This ends the game and there is no further play.
Can you discard a playable card in Rummy to go out?
In order to go out you have to have one unplayable card to discard. If you try to go out by discarding a playable card, a player who notices this can make you take your discard back and meld it. Alternatively, some play that any other player can call ‘Rummy!’ and meld your discard.

Jokers count as 15 points. In order to begin scoring all players must lay no less than 30 points for their first score. When any player discards the last card in their hand, the play immediately ends.
